Are you often getting a strong, accelerated “heartbeat” for no reason or due to stress?
It is commonly happening in both women and men of all ages.
We recommend 3 simple ways that will take you less than a minute, and will quickly slow down your heart rate.
1. Valsalva maneuver
Inhalation of medium strength. Close the nose and blow your breath strongly in yourself without air drop (just like when you do while in the WC). Hold this pressure as much as you can. Then exhale and relax.
You may experience easy dizziness, but it is normal. It is the same procedure when you unclog your ears, to balance the pressure.
2. Very deep breathing
Inhale very deeply, to a point where you are no longer able to enter the least air. Then quickly exhale the air from the lungs. Repeat until needed. Deep breaths are not enough. Very deep breathing will slow down the heart, and it is necessary to inhale to the limits of the lung, significantly more than just deep breathing. Only thus you will slow down the heart rate.
3. Method with cold water
You need a lot of cold water, the cooler – the better, so fill the water container with a lot of ice cubes.
All you need to do when your pulse is accelerated is to take a deep breath and dive your face in cold water and stay as long as you can.
This procedure stimulates your vagus nerve which affects the heart rate to slow down. When you are holding your face in cold water the body sends a signal to slow down metabolism known as divers reflex, which causes a rapid decline in the number of heartbeats. It’s the same reflex that helps some people to survive long periods in cold water, slowing down the body metabolism.
Try each of these methods several times before moving on to the next. After a while you will see which one is the best for you, and how effectively and quickly will soothe the pulse.
