Phytotherapy – the nature of health
Phytotherapy is a method of treatment and prevention of disease by using medicinal plants or their parts (flowers, leaves, roots), use of ingredients (essential oils, extracts and other isolates) and finished products (teas, tinctures, ointments, capsules).
This term was first introduced into medicine by the French physician Henri Leclerc, instead of the name “herbal remedies.” Phytotherapy is the first form of medicine known to man, dating back before recorded history.
For centuries it was the only way of healing and pain relief.
Modern phytotherapy is part of alternative medicine, but also of scientific medicine and the basis for prevention and assistance with various diseases or ailments.
Advantages of herbal medicines are not addictive and naturally regain balance, body maintain vital and prepared, and especially useful as preventive.
Today is preferred cultivation of medicinal plants without the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, in order to avoid harmful effects.
Herbs are used in various pharmaceutical forms as water extract of herbal medicines (infusion), ethanol extract (tincture drops), syrups, tablets and capsules.
Plants contain a number of different substances, depending on numerous factors such as the soil in which grow in which season are picked, air etc..
