Neither the men or women are spared from this health problem. However, symptoms for men and women are quite different.
In women, some symptoms sometimes appear even ten days before the date of a heart attack in women.
If you have any of these symptoms, visit your doctor immediately to prevent heart attack.
Chest pain and discomfort
Chest pain is the most common symptom of a heart attack, but some women may experience it in a different way compared with men. It can feel like pinching and fullness, pain can be anywhere in the chest, not only on the left side. This is usually “really uncomfortable” during a heart attack. A woman feels like a vise.
This type of pain is more common in women than in men. This can confuse women who expect the pain to be focused in the left hand and ignore the back and jaw. The pain may be gradual or sudden, it can cause nausea before becoming stronger. If you fall asleep, it can wake you up. You have to explain all “atypical and unexplained” symptoms in any part of the body above the waist or on your doctor or cardiologist.
Sometimes people confuse the stomach pain that signals heart attack by acids in the stomach, flu or a stomach ulcer. Another way women experience abdominal tension as if something heavy stand on their stomach.
Shortage of breath, nausea and dizziness
If you have trouble breathing for no apparent reason, you may get a heart attack, especially if you have more than one symptom. You may feel like you’re fleeing, but actually you have not made a single step.
